This week is National Vocations Awareness Week and our vocations ministers, Br. John Eustice, CSV, and Pre-Associate Dan Masterton are having a ball with it, with this week’s Instagram takeover.

“To celebrate the range of vocations in the Viatorian Community, we have a new Instagram takeover each day,” Dan says, “as members of our community share the joy of their states of life and ministries.”

Fr. Jason Nesbit, CSV, opened the week with a takeover that featured a day in the life as pastor of Maternity BVM Parish. Br. Jhobany Orduz, CSV, and Br. Eustice picked it up on Monday, giving followers a sense of their lives as Viatorians and seminarians.

Today, one of our collaborators, Lucy Pena, shares her role as Director of Campus Ministry at Cristo Rey St. Viator in North Las Vegas, and how she shares the Viatorian charism with her students.

Subsequent takeovers will feature Br. Rob Robertson, CSV, a counselor at Saint Viator High School, as well as Associate Rosy Hartz, who will let followers in on a day with Viatorian students at the National Catholic Youth Conference in Long Beach, CA.

Associate Kurt Paprocki who is a Saint Viator High School graduate and 20-year Spanish teacher at the school, rounds out the week,

Our vocation ministry team opened the ViatorianUSA Instagram account two years ago, as a way to creatively share snapshots of the Viatorian Community. Its daily posts sprinkle Viatorian news and history with joyful accounts of proclaiming the gospel. This is the second Instagram takeover, with the first debuting in July when young adult leaders at the Viatorian Youth Congress took over the account.

National Vocations Awareness Week was created in 1976 by the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops. The annual celebration heightens vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education — and in a variety of social media platforms.
