Br. Rob Robertson, CSV, moved west to Las Vegas in 2015 to begin a new career as
a junior high counselor at St. Viator Catholic Community — after serving teens at Saint Viator High School for 20 years.
Right away, he made an impact.
Back in the fall of 2015, Br. Rob came up with new ways to help his students succeed: a homework and study help program
Earlier this month, the sessions returned for the start of the third year. They are designed for junior high students and offered Monday through Thursdays immediately after school in the library.
Br. Rob drew students from nearby Bishop Gorman Catholic High School to serve as tutors, as well as Br. Dan Tripamer, CSV, a former math teacher at Saint Viator High School, now teaching math at Bishop Gorman, to serve as a math tutor.
“We are very blessed by our Viatorians,” exclaims Principal Tracy Brunelle.
One of the core principles of the Viatorian Community is to educate young people and take an active role in their faith formation. By offering a study session each day after school, designed to help junior high students succeed and prepare for high school, these two religious brothers are doing just that.
