Viatorian Associates come from all walks of life and nowhere was that more evident
than in Las Vegas recently, when Associate Paul Hartz was honored for his lifesaving actions.
Hartz was one of two deputy city marshals honored by Mayor Carolyn Goodman in the Las Vegas City Council chambers for having the saved the life of an 85-year old man trying to commit suicide.
It’s all in a day’s work for Hartz, who committed to becoming a Viatorian associate with his wife, Rosy, in 2009.
By day, Hartz is a member of the deputy city marshals’ bike unit, which monitors the 80 parks in Las Vegas and its more than 100 miles of trails.
When he’s off duty, Hartz is active at St. Viator Catholic School, where his two daughters attend. He and Rosy helped start the Campus Ministry program in 2013 and while Rosy directs the program full time, Paul helps with retreats and special events.
