On the eve of the presidential election and during this time of unprecedented division, it is important for all of us to remember the values that unite us as citizens of the U.S. and as believers.

Fr. Mark Francis, CSV

The foundational belief of Catholic Social Teaching is the conviction that every human being is made in God’s image and likeness and consequently our rhetoric and actions must convey our conviction in the human dignity of all.

Regardless of our political differences, we are bound by a shared commitment to democracy, the rule of law and a future built on freedom, justice and opportunity. We hold dearly the right to speak our minds, the right to vote and the responsibility to listen to and respect our fellow citizens. This election, like those before it, is a testament to our belief in the power of the people to shape our nation’s path.

In these moments, our resilience shines through our commitment to one another and to our communities. Together, we seek a more prosperous, just, and inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. As we cast our votes, we reaffirm our dedication to this shared purpose, united in our desire for a stronger, better America for all.
