Members of the Viatorian Vocations Team made an encouraging discovery recently: Numbers of people entering religious life were up from 2022 to 2023. But Br. Peter Lamick, CSV, and Associate Dan Masterton didn’t stop there. In this National Vocations Awareness Week, they dove into the shared traits of these entrants, as identified by interviews with peers and colleagues, fresh data and input from other religious congregations.
“The fact that 93% of them had some sort of experience serving in liturgies, and had exposure to priests and committed lay people people while this active participation in the church,” Br. Peter says, “enables them to think about a life serving the church.”
