Four Viatorian religious — Fr. John Eustice, Br. Peter Lamick, Br. Jhobany Orduz and Br. Rob Robertson — share their stories of discerning a call to religious life and about making that commitment all the way to perpetual vows.

They are surprisingly different. Br. Peter relates his experience in high school football and how much he enjoyed being with a group dedicated to a common mission, while Br. John credits the youth ministry opportunities for service in his home parish, where he fed the hungry in Las Vegas. Br. Jhobany knew he wanted to be a Viatorian for life, but when someone asked him to consider the priesthood, that kept the spirit moving. Br. Rob said it was working alongside Viatorians that planted the seed for him.

“I saw something in those priests and brothers that was attractive,” Br. Rob says. “As I got to know them, I saw the commitment they had to something that felt right to me. That was my first real understanding of commitment.”
