A little more than a week after Br. Carlos Suarez, CSV, professed his first vows, the Foundation of Colombia has more reasons to celebrate, as they welcomed three pre-novices.

Br. Edwin Barreto presents crosses to new Pre-Novices Brian Stiv Santana Monsalve and Andrés Julián Rozo Fontecha
In the chapel at Casa Querbes, at Colegio San Viator in Bogotá, the Viatorian Community welcomed Brian Stiv Santana Monsalve and Andrés Julián Rozo Fontecha in their first year of the Pre-Novitiate. At the same time, they welcomed Julián Camilo Torres Cortes, now in his second year of the Pre-Novitiate in the Viatorian Community.
Fr. Edgar Suárez, CSV, celebrated the liturgy and ceremony, which drew professed Viatorians and associates to attend and affirm these pre-novices.
“This is a source of great joy and hope for our community,” Fr. Suárez says, “as their presence represents an invaluable opportunity to strengthen and enrich our vocations, ministries and apostolates in harmony with the mission of the Clerics of St. Viator in Colombia.”
Br. Edwin Barreto, CSV, will accompany them during this formation process. He professed his first vows in 2019 and he teaches primary grade students at the Colegio.
“His commitment and example will be an invaluable guide for these young men on their journey of discernment and formation,” Fr. Suárez said.

Viatorian religious will accompany these pre-novices through their formation.
He adds that the presence and prayers of the professed and associates during this process of formation and accompaniment are fundamental.
“Together as a community of faith, we can provide the necessary support for Brian, Andrés and Julián,” Fr. Suárez says, “to have a fruitful time of vocational discernment and to generously respond to the call that God has made in their lives. We wish them a time full of blessings, spiritual growth and a deep connection to the Viatorian mission in Colombia.”
