Lenten Pilgrimage at Saint Viator High School

Fr. John Eustice, who serves as chaplain, joined the Querbes Scholars and Mr. Paolelli on a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Christ’s Passion in St. John, Indiana, where 40 life-sized bronze sculptures line an immersive path where pilgrims can walk the Way of the Cross. Fr. Eustice helped students enter together into this Lenten devotion.

Youth Liturgical Leadership in Las Vegas

At St. Viator Catholic Community in Las Vegas, Viator Youth Ministry led a Stations of the Cross service for the parish community.

Additionally, Cristo Rey St. Viator organized a Mass for the crowds in town for the West Coast Conference basketball tournament. Mrs. Rinaldo and Mr. van Hollebeke joined CRSV students in hosting and serving at the Mass, which also raised money in support of the school and its mission.

Confirmation in Bourbonnais

In Bourbonnais, candidates at Maternity BVM received the Sacrament of Confirmation, and Fr. Jhobany Orduz – back from his ordination in Colombia – was among the Viatorians taking part in the celebration. Pictured here is coordinator of Viatorian Youth Ministry Amanda Fierce’s son, Wes, on the big day.

VHH as a Source of Hope

Finally, Fr. Corey Brost took part in a book talk webinar on Kids in Cages, a book compiled last year on the crisis for youth in immigration. Fr. Corey and Br. Michael Gosch co-authored a chapter on Viator House and the alternative to detention this ministry can offer. “Through Viator House, these young men can reclaim their humanity. They can spend some years with us receiving service from case managers who help them identify goals and access services they need to then thrive,” Fr. Corey said.
