Just six months ago, officials at Colegio San Viator in Bogotá rejoiced when the school received its certification as an International Baccalaureate school.

Now, the news gets even better.
A highly regarded university just north of Bogotá, Universidad de La Sabana, and Colegio San Viator have reached an agreement to grant colegio graduates preferential treatment in its admission process, as well as credit for the IB-DP (Diploma Programme) subjects successfully completed at school.

The agreement includes giving graduates of the colegio the chance to enroll in the program of their preference, bypassing part of the admission process. Outstanding graduates will also be recognized by the university, giving them access to exclusive advantages to foster their professional development.
“Partnering with one of the top and most recognized universities in the country gives our graduates great opportunities to start their professional careers,” says Carlos Trebilcock, principal. “It grants them access to the program they choose and priority in the international exchange program.
“Students may also have the opportunity to become professor’s assistants in the subjects they excel at,” he adds, “and even have easy access to the Research and Development department.”

Excellent grades in the IBDP program at Colegio San Viator will lead to credit for those subjects at university, up to 20 percent of the first year credits.
