Students from Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep have been accompanying Fr. Corey Brost, CSV, to the Arizona/Mexico border for the last six years, but this month the school’s president, Preston Kendall, accompanied them. And he described it as “powerful.”
“When you see the human misery involved in this, it really does change you,” Kendall said.

In this 3-minute video, he and a pair of his students reflect on their trip and the immediate takeaways.
“Privilege was a big topic for us,” said Kyara B., “what can we do with our privilege.”
Adrian C. added that he appreciated this direct experience at the border and he hopes to bring what he learned to his new school, the University of Illinois Chicago: “Hopefully, I’ll be able to educate others about the issues going on.”
