Right from its founding in 1961, Saint Viator High School and its Viatorian founders prioritized fine arts as a pillar of a well-rounded education. In a booklet from the school’s 1961 dedication, it lists nine objectives articulating the school’s mission. One of them moves beyond faith formation and moral values to promote experiences in art, music and drama.

Fast forward more than 60 years later and the school still prioritizes the fine arts, between its theater program, robust visual arts offerings and choir and band ensembles. Underscoring that emphasis was this year’s Christmas message sent to the school’s more than 14,000 alumni, past and current parents, and countless supporters. It features a tender — and then rousing — rendition of “All I Want for Christmas is You.” Enjoy!
