Associates Paul and Rosy Hartz have devoted their lives to advancing the Viatorian charism at St. Viator School and Parish in Las Vegas. Rosy serves as Coordinator of Faith Formation and Youth Ministry, which she has done for more than 20 years, while Paul works to protect the community as a Lieutenant with the Las Vegas City Marshals.

Both channel much of their energy into the Campus Ministry program at the parish, which provides middle school students with retreats and hands-on experiences in advancing social justice.

Saturday, their involvement and commitment to Catholic education was recognized. Paul and Rosy Hartz were among three couples honored at the 34th annual St. Viator School Foundation dinner. The gala took place at the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa and also honored Laura and Rene Alcaraz, and Christa and Todd Morse.

For 34 years, the St. Viator School Foundation has funded important capital improvement projects on the school’s Las Vegas campus, Since a group of parents started this fundraising arm of the school in 1998, its yearly dinner and auction has contributed nearly $2 million to the school’s budget.

Last year alone, the dinner financed student iPads, COVID improvements. which included all new water fountains and safety plexiglass. The gala has also financed the school’s new library.

“It was an epic night,” Rosy Hartz says simply. “We’re feeling beyond thankful and blessed.”
